IMPRESSIVE RACE FOR JUURIKKA CLIMBING UP FROM 22ND TO 7TH PLACE IN THE X30 JUNIOR FINAL
Race report: Only 11-year-old Joona-Oskari Juurikka participated in Genk to an international high-level karting race of X30 Euro Series as the youngest driver in X30 Junior category. The Flying Finn from Haukiputaa in Northern Finland surprised all with his continuously improving performance and he ended up finishing on 7th position in the final as the best Finn in the competition.
Juurikka who drove in Italian-Danish Haase team stole the hearts of his team already in the beginning of the race week with his continuous honest smile. You can clearly see it when the technical specialist Massimo Forte lifted him up after the final. “The boy is excellent and when he improves his braking, he’ll develop into a star pilot”, Forte commented in Italian.
The target was to be in top 15 because dad promised that I can get to Castelletto, Italy to the next big international event. Now it’s so great that I can go there also!”, told the young driver about his targets.
The owner of Haase factory, Jörn Haase, who won karting World Championship in his own career was exceptionally emotional after the final and he’s sure that his driver is exceptional. Joona-Oskari is definitely a talent to follow!
He participates in Finnish X30 races in Jussi Malila’s Prospeed Finland team, so it’s possible to see him in action also in the home country.
Congratulations !
